Let us introduce you to Icecat PIM 2.4.3! To improve your experience, we’ve added a ton of new features and enhancements in our most recent update. We’ve refined every element, from maintaining image sort order in Icecat import to a better warehouse filter, improved product overviews, and even failsafe mechanisms for import files. Here’s the full list of updates of Icecat PIM 2.4.3:
New features and improvements
- Added functionality to save image sort order in Icecat Connect.
Now images from Icecat will be exported with the correct sort order. - Improved error message for error when product is not matching with Icecat
- Added a modification in the warning to overwrite product data for Icecat browser alert.
- Made product status selection on export mandatory.
- Added text improvements for English and Dutch translations (1)
Improved Warehouse Filter
We have improved our warehouse filter. The default option is ‘Select warehouse,’ which includes products with a selected warehouse, products without a warehouse, and products without a selected warehouse. Additionally, we have enhanced the wording for the additional filter. The additional warehouse filter becomes selectable only when a warehouse in the main filter is chosen. The default option for the additional warehouse filter has been changed to ‘Show all products from this warehouse.” Other filter wording has been changed to “Select…” format for consistency.
- Added improvement of warehouse and other filters.
- Added changes in the product overview menu (Headers pages and edit pages).
- Improved “only Icecat content” filter in post-filter
Before there were 2 options, now there are 3 options: Not applied, with Icecat content, and without Icecat content. “Only Icecat content” filter now works both with exclude and include post-filter rules. - Added division for Administrator settings to user settings, Icecat connection settings, and general settings.
- Added Total stock to Product edit page
Total stock substituted the previous “Presented quantity” field. It is calculated by summing up the stock quantities from all the warehouses where the product is available. - Added warning for changing Icecat login and password
- Added standardized warnings when using Apply rules for Business rules, Pricing rules, and Warehouse selector
- Added PDF Export in Metafield version2 for Shopify
- Added New display for logs (Hidden in this version, will be available for the next version)
- Hid delivery rules
- Added import SEO data fields to Icecat PIM.
Now, meta description and meta keywords can be also imported to Icecat PIM if present in Icecat.
- Added warehouse selector Apply rules
- Improved product overview: Icecat enriched/not enriched, online/offline products
- Added warehouse selector Drag&Drop.
- Added logs text improvement (2)
- Added error message when a user tries to save a product without enabled warehouse
Fail-safe Feature
- Added hardcoded setting “do not run import if import file has 0 lines” and relevant error message in logs.
This is a failsafe feature. If the import file mistakenly contains 0 products, the import will not run, and it will not cause the deletion of products or their warehouses. Users will be notified in logs. Additionally, if the product count drops by more than 1/3 compared to the previous import, the import will stop, and the user will be notified too. - Hid some nonfunctional reports in Reports in Icecat PIM.
- Push API | Added Warehouses
- Added note about how save works to General settings in Administrator settings.
- Improved keeping the field price open when creating new product pricing rules
- Added pagination First/Last page for main pages
- Added Drag&Drop button in Images tab in Product edit
- Hid Delivery type and Supply type in Warehouses table
Notifications to Apply Locks
Our users provided feedback indicating that they often forget to apply relevant locks on their products when working in Icecat PIM at the product level. Consequently, the content gets overwritten by Icecat during the next product content update. To address this issue, a notification will now remind users to apply locks whenever any field is changed in product editing.
- Added warning on Lock suggestions on save in product edit.
- Added a Download option for the newest version of the Icecat PIM Manual in Help section
Now our users will have access to the newest version of the Manual at any moment. - Added more fields for Standard XML export (product stories, bullet points, video URLs, PDF URLs, SEO data, product stories)
- Added Icecat enrichment to not overwrite imported custom attributes from the Import file.
For users who work with custom attributes importing from an Icecat Connect file, Icecat enrichment will respect custom-imported attribute values imported to Icecat PIM during the enrichment process. - Push API | Added Relation rules
- Added setting on export for products with “no warehouse”
- Added product state option to category mapping
- Improved custom attribute import on Icecat Connect
- Added External ID field to Shops edit page
- Added External ID field to Price groups edit page
- Added VAT, Delivery ETA, and Distributor EAN fields to Standard XML export
- Added new setting – Update UPC/EANs, Product names with Icecat Connect
- Added new setting – Update UPC/EANs and Product names with Icecat
Some of our customers do not want to make use of Icecat’s product names and EAN/UPC/GTIN codes for their products. Thus, we created settings in Icecat Connect and Icecat enrichment imports to import the data and prevent it from being overwritten by Icecat data. You can learn more about how to use these settings in the Manual.
Navigate with Ease
- Added new report: Import price changes
The Import Prices History report displays changes in supplier product prices over time, sourced from your Icecat Connect file. You can choose a date range to select products that have been updated within the chosen dates. Please note that the date range selection applies only to the newest price update date. The old price will reflect the previously updated price for each product shown in the table. Only products with price changes will be shown. You can utilize additional filters and price change exports to access a list of selected products with numeric values indicating price changes. - Added category field when adding new product from the interface
- Added fixed price rule creation when adding new product from the interface
We gathered feedback from customers indicating that the process of creating a new product, assigning a category, and establishing a fixed rule was time-consuming and involved significant navigation. Now, users can accomplish these tasks with just a few clicks directly within the ‘Add new product’ window in the product overview.
Simplified Workflow
- Added retrieve Icecat Attributes in Product Types
In Icecat PIM, attributes are assigned per product type. Prior to the release of Icecat PIM 2.4.3, it was necessary to have a product that was already enriched with Icecat to view the attribute set for the product type. With the latest update, users can now retrieve Icecat attributes for any product type directly within the list of product types. This functionality proves beneficial for users who primarily work in PIM on a content level and prefer assigning an existing product type with attributes to a product rather than creating attributes from scratch. - Added JSON Export format (product’s main fields).
- Added Content subblocks to Bulk locks in the product overview
- Added Icecat Long description format options in Icecat XML import settings.
You can have different formats for the long description field enriched from Icecat. You can select them in Icecat XML import settings, with the long description as the default option.
- Added additional module access options for Administrators
If Icecat PIM users have different roles, such as one responsible for the content and another responsible for the pricing of your products, now you can assign modules from the Administrator settings using the advanced list of modules we provide.
